Samantha Hartophilis
Background. My background includes working with children, adolescents, parents, families and adults within both intensive in-home therapy and intensive outpatient settings. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology as well as her Master of Science Degree from Monmouth University, where I was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, the National Honor Society for Counseling Students and Professionals.
Credentials and Licensing. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor in the State of New Jersey.
Areas of passion and specialty. I specialize in working with numerous populations struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality/mood/thought disorders, grief, and relationship issues.
Approach. My approach to counseling draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), along with evidence-based techniques. I maintain a client-centered approach to therapy through establishing a genuine and congruent relationship with my clients to formulate realistic goals. I work to create a warm and nurturing environment for my clients to experience healthy support and opportunities to process the difficulties that brought them to therapy.
