Shannon Sarthou
Life is full of seasons of joy, grief, love, conflict, and transitions. To experience all the feels that come with life’s twists and turns – that’s what makes us human… but it’s also what can make it feel really hard.
Background. In my 15 years of experience, I know too well there is no one-size-fits all approach to change or healing. As a curious and lifelong learner, I have experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mutual Aid, LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive sensitivity, Art in Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sanctuary Model, and Trauma-informed practices. I’ve also completed training in Ayurveda, Reiki, Heart of a Warrior Buddhist Training, and other spiritual, grief, and healing practices.
Credentials and Licensing. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NJ, NY, and FL; but I'm currently only seeing clients virtually.
Approach. As a therapist and as an indiviudal, I believe we, ourselves, know our true heart the best, even when it feels like we’re lost or we’ve forgotten. Honoring your unique complexity and experience, I cultivate a holistic approach that helps you find your way back to your true self. I strive to work alongside people and their families (of origin and choice) to help them through the difficult moments in life. My goal is to co-create a compassionate and supportive environment – a place where you can explore the questions, hopes, messiness and spaces of your heart. If you’re traveling the roads of grief, self-love, anxiety, stress, depression, creative blocks, relationships, spirituality, and/or identity, you don’t have to go at it alone. Let’s talk.
