Background. I graduated from Caldwell University with her Masters in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy. I additionally have a bachelor’s from Marywood University in Art Therapy.
Credentials and Licensing. I am currently a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) from the State of NJ as well as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). I am under the supervision of Stephanie DiZenzo-Priestley, LPC, ACS.
Areas of passion and specialty. I have experience working with children and adolescents through art therapy and yoga. I additionally have experience at Bristol Myers Squibb RWJ Children’s Hospital, working with patients with a variety of mental health disorders, oncological processes, and medical diagnoses. I am passionate about helping individuals become the best versions of themselves through psychoeducation, empowerment and by providing individuals a safe and therapeutic environment to be heard. My approach with clients in their healing journey includes empathy, non-judgment, mindfulness, and collaboration with the client to ensure their goals are being met
Approach. I currently use Creative Arts Therapy interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. I firmly believe that every individual has the capacity to grow and become the best versions of themselves.
Fun Facts. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, practicing meditation and yoga, creating artwork as a personal form of therapy and relaxation, spending time outdoors and getting lost in books about self-empowerment and growth.
