Catherine (Kate) Hall

LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Background. I have my B.A. in Communication and Psychology from the University of Illinois and earned my MSW from Fordham University in 2009.

Credentials and Licensing. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey. My license is pending in New York and Pennsylvania.

Areas of passion and specialty. Areas of passion and specialty: I love working with older adults, and have 15 years experience doing so. That said, I work with individuals and couples of all ages, and deeply enjoy the diversity of clients I work with. Since 2021, I have many clients ages 18-25. I find that my experience with older adults is enormously helpful in my work with young people. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, healing from childhood trauma, chronic health issues/change in health status, adoption, identity development, self- esteem, and relationship issues. I work with individuals, couples, and families.

Approach. Therapy can be scary and exhilarating at the same time. My job is to create an emotionally safe environment, and serve as your guide and companion as we navigate your therapy experience together. I like to provide clients with a strong, gentle and calm presence in the therapy room, with respect, compassion and collaboration at the heart of our work. When appropriate, I use spirituality and humor to optimize progress. I want you to look forward to our meetings as much as I do! I utilize modalities of CBT, DBT, ACT, Trauma Informed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, and Relational Therapy.
