Background. Ben received his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kean University.  He works with children 9+, teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families. He also has experience as a Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) while working with Children’s Mobile Response of Monmouth County. Ben’s experience before joining TOL includes time with CPC Integrated Healthcare, New Hope Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, and other outpatient services. 

Credentials and Licensing. Ben is a Licensed Associate Counselor and soon to be Licensed Professional Counselor pending board approval. Ben is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Areas of passion and specialty. Ben enjoys working with people from all walks of life. Ben is a trauma informed and culturally competent therapist which includes being a LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming clinician. Ben is passionate about breaking down the barriers of toxic masculinity and helping men of all ages become more emotionally intelligent. Ben’s areas of specialty include: Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Bi-polar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder (including executive functioning and life skills work), OCD, and adjustment disorders. 

Approach. The cornerstone to Ben’s approach is the idea of the “Therapeutic Alliance”, how strong the trust is between the client and clinician. Ben believes in an individual approach for each client and will pull from many modalities including CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychoanalysis. Ben will challenge his clients to be the best version of themselves possible. Ben prefers a “casual” approach to counseling to ensure client comfort.

Fun Facts. Ben enjoys spending time with his family including his wife and 2 pets. Ben is an avid Knicks fan, enjoys video games, listening to music, nature walks, and cooking.
